Game Day!

It's on! The BPB Ministry crew will be going to the Hawks-Bobcats game Tuesday night in Charlotte. Four tix have been purchased for the following folks: -K-Young, GG, MoJo and Morning.
Tix cost $11.25 each. Game starts at 7:30 p.m. We'll leave after work. I plan to wear a Marvin Williams Tar Heel jersey with Bobcats shirt underneath. Go team go!

Some good news links

Here is some of the stuff I mentioned in the Bible study for your reference: Bank Rate (go down to calculators section to use the various tools), Generous Giving, and Gift of Giving. Also here is a site that gives a good biblical breakdown on wealth vs. poverty.

Strange News Articles

Here's an interesting article about strip clubs and Wall Street. Certainly not the most efficient use of money. Such "investments" defintely don't adhere to the principles we've been studying:

And I found this amusing article about "Jesus" on Fark:

Interesting reads. Enjoy!

Welcome

As promised, here's the blog for the "Broke Phi Broke Ministry." We're just a group of Christians who work together in Gastonia, N.C. The Lord moved one member to start a small group bible study devoted to understanding financial principles through a Christian viewpoint. The goal is to impart an appreciation for our Godly potential and a respect for God's resources.
We're all journalists so when it comes to money, we're all broke phi broke. We ain't got it!
We've had four weeks of what is meant as six weeks of class. It's been very educational and enlightening. We basically are starting this site to communicate with each other about some of the principles we've been studying and to share other examples of websites, resources as well encounter them. Since this is really meant for internal discussion, God help you if you stumble upon this sight. Just kidding. You're more than welcome to view the info as well. We hope you can learn something. Thanks for stopping by. And welcome.
