I Shall Not Walk Alone

K wanted to know why I haven't posted in awhile. The main reason is I haven't been around. But also I haven't really had much to say. (Until now). Such is the life of an unemployed bum in transition to grad student. I try to limit my posts on here to the goals of the "ministry"- God and religion topics as well as financial solvency and indebtedness; and also to journalism topics.
I figured this blog can chronicle our spiritual and professional growth over the years, but also be a good resource to share with each other the latest developments in these areas.
I've definitely felt somewhat "out of touch" with God over the summer. I haven't regularly attended church since I've been traveling so much. I've slipped with my devotion to God.
But tonight I went to my church's weekly Young Professionals Bible Study. Prayer can be powerful and group prayer is an awesome experience. It's also good reflecting, studying and learning God's word.
I'm somewhat apprehensive about finding a new church home, and believers to grow with in Christ once I move to Athens. I know God has already provided those tools and Christian brothers and sisters for me to bond and serve with and that it's just a matter of time before I discover them.
I'm also happy to report that God has placed one of my high school friends in Athens. So I won't be alone. I'll know at least one other person living in Athens. A good friend of mine from high school who grew up in my neighborhood and who I've sort of mentored over the years (he's two years younger than me), has gotten a job as a sports writer at the Banner-Herald. I'm so thrilled to have a friend making the move to Athens at the same time as me.
So that's what's new with me. How are you all? What's the latest with work and church and God and other stuff?
